GVK Hancock is developing three world-class coal deposits Galilee Basin in Central Queensland– Alpha, Kevin’s Corner, Alpha West deposits.

Once developed, our mining operations will be some of the largest operating mines  in the world with a total JORC Resource of 8 billion tonnes of high quality thermal coal.

The Alpha and Kevin’s Corner coal mines are projected to be amongst the largest thermal coal mines in the world, at 32 Mtpa and 28 Mtpa respectively, with a mine life of 30+ years.

Developing the vast potential of the Galilee Basin bring online a new world class high quality, low ash, low sulphur, low gas thermal coal deposit offering an ability to lower global emissions from coal fired power generation.

It will also deliver one of the most significant pieces of regional and economic development the State of Queensland has seen for decades, providing over 20,000 direct and indirect local jobs.
